Set IPTV App Setup for Greek TV on Smart TVs and Android

The Set IPTV app is a media player that many Samsung and LG Smart TV owners use to watch an IPTV playlist. If you have a SetIPTV Greek subscription, it can play your channels once you link the two. This guide covers your MAC address, the playlist upload, the TV guide and the most common fixes.

Quick disclaimer: SetIPTV (SetIPTV.gr) is an IPTV subscription service, not the developer of this player, and we have no affiliation with the app or its maker. We supply the M3U link or Xtream codes login that you load into it, or into any other compatible player.

What the Set IPTV app is, and who makes it

The player comes from a developer called SETSYSTEME, which also brands it as SETIPTV. Despite the similar name, it is a separate product from our service. In fact, the developer states clearly that it is a player only and sells no channels, content or subscriptions.

In other words, the app works like an empty screen. It reads a playlist from your provider and turns it into channel lists, categories and on-demand menus. For the technical background, Wikipedia’s article on IPTV explains how this kind of delivery works.

According to the developer’s site, it runs on compatible Smart TVs, Android TV boxes and TVs, and Android tablets. It also accepts two playlist formats: an M3U link and an Xtream codes login (server, username and password). Both are exactly what SetIPTV sends after you subscribe.

What you need before you start

  • A supported screen: a Samsung (Tizen) or LG (webOS) Smart TV, an Android TV box or an Android tablet.
  • Your SetIPTV login: the M3U link or Xtream codes from your activation message. Plans start at $12.99 for one month, and every option sits on our pricing page.
  • A phone or computer: you add the playlist through a web page, not with the TV remote.
  • A steady connection: about 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. For a TV, Ethernet is the safer choice.

Also, keep the trial clock in mind. The player’s free trial lasts 7 days from installation, so have your login ready before you begin. If you do not have one yet, our team usually activates new accounts within minutes on WhatsApp or by email.

How to set up the Set IPTV app on Samsung and LG TVs

The process is short. However, the order matters, so follow these steps one at a time.

  1. Install the player. On Samsung, search for it in the Smart Hub app store. LG owners can find it in the LG Content Store, although availability can vary by country and TV model.
  2. Open it and write down the MAC. The home screen shows your device’s MAC address together with the portal address.
  3. Go to the portal. On your phone or computer, open the developer’s official upload page at setsysteme.com/set.app.
  4. Enter the MAC. Type it as shown on the TV. The site accepts capitals or lowercase, with or without the colons.
  5. Add your SetIPTV login. Either paste the M3U link, or fill in the Xtream server address, username and password. Then give the playlist a clear name such as “Greek TV”.
  6. Send it to the TV. Tick the robot check if one appears, then submit the form.
  7. Restart the player. Close it fully and open it again, and your playlist appears in the menu.

After that, you can browse 52,728 live channels and 169,076 movies and 44,465 series on demand. To change a playlist later, load the current setup on the portal first and then edit it. The portal holds up to nine playlists per device. For other devices, our setup guide walks through each one.

Android devices, free trial and lifetime activation

On Android TV boxes and tablets, the setup works the same way: open the player, note the MAC and upload your playlist on the portal. However, download the app only from your device’s store or a source the developer links on its official site. Unofficial APK mirrors can carry modified or unsafe files.

Next, plan for the activation. The trial needs no card, but after 7 days the developer charges a one-time lifetime fee per device. When we checked, its activation page listed 170 MAD (roughly 15 euros), payable by Visa or Mastercard. Prices can change, so confirm the current amount on the official page.

Two rules are worth knowing. First, the activation stays locked to one device’s MAC, so you cannot move it to another TV. Second, the developer’s terms rule out refunds once you accept them. Note that this fee goes to the app developer, not to SetIPTV.

EPG and Set IPTV app troubleshooting

Most problems come down to a typo, an old link or a weak connection. Here are the fixes we suggest most often:

  • Playlist does not appear: compare the MAC on the portal with the one on the TV. Then close and reopen the player, because a background restart is not enough.
  • Login error: copy the M3U link or Xtream details again from your SetIPTV message. A missing character is the usual cause.
  • Empty TV guide: EPG data comes with the playlist where supported. If the guide stays blank with an M3U link, try the Xtream login instead, since it often carries guide data more reliably. Our Greek M3U playlist guide explains the link format.
  • Trial message on screen: the 7 days have ended, so the player needs its lifetime activation before it plays again.
  • Buffering: move the TV to Ethernet, check your speed against the 10 Mbps HD and 25 Mbps 4K figures, and restart your router.

Still stuck? Message us through our contact page, and we will check your login on our side. For payment or activation questions about the player itself, however, contact its developer directly.

Alternatives if this player is not for you

The MAC-and-portal method suits people who prefer not to type long links with a remote. Still, it is not the only option. Many compatible IPTV player apps let you enter an Xtream login directly on the TV, with no portal and no MAC step.

Also, some devices are missing from the developer’s list, including Fire TV Stick, iPhone and Apple TV. On those, install a different compatible player and use the same SetIPTV login. For a wider look at television options, read our Greek IPTV on Smart TV page.

Keep in mind that each TV needs its own player activation, while a SetIPTV plan covers one device. If you watch on several screens, the 12-month plan takes 25% off a second device and 50% off a third.

If this player is not available on your device, our Greek TV app guide compares other compatible players. You can also check the app with a free trial before buying a plan.
